Wordless Wednesday: Library Walk

Before I started WW I rarely looked at my surroundings. I raced back and forth, never taking the time to observe what I passed each day. I just wanted to get from point A to point B (typical New Yorker!). Now I make sure to pay attention and smell the concrete 😉

So today I salute the creator of WW and all its participants for opening my eyes to the wonderful wordless & wordful world around me and bring you what I discovered…

“Library Walk” on East 41st Street between Fifth Avenue and Park Avenue featuring 96 bronze sidewalk plaques, used to honor the New York Public Library Humanities and Social Sciences Library, a beautiful library in the heart of the city. Its a beautiful place to take a stroll when you wish to be inspired!

You can see all 96 bronze sidewalk plaques by clicking HERE. Do you think they omitted any literary great?

Anywho, Happy WW!

Thanks for sharing! Isn’t it amazing what we can find when we open our eyes? For example, I worked just down the street from where Edgar Alan Poe is buried and it took me 3 years to go to his grave site. It was BEAUTIFUL when I got there!

Hey those pics were awesome! I can’t believe I walk these same streets on a daily basis, and never noticed them. I guess you call that looking with your eyes shut (lol). I especially liked the last one, it was so meaningful. Thanks for sharing.
