Wordless Wednesday: Heart Shaped Arrepitas

My boys and I love to eat Arepitas de Yuca (Yucca Fritters). They are simple and quick, as well as tasty!

I made a few for my boys the other day and decided to shape one as a heart.

Do you ever shape your food (example: pancakes or sandwiches)?

Happy WW!

There are always interesting shapes to find if you look, even in a favorite food.

(This is also a reminder that I would like to try and make arepitas de yuca at some point.)

Those look soooo good. I remember we used to do pancakes in different shapes when I was growing up, but I hadn’t thought to do anything like that with my son. Great idea!

First time doing WW. Those look rico! I used to do smiley faces on their eggs with ketchup, lol.

Oops, I forgot to answer the question (lol). I do shape my food, but I have cooking irons that do the work for me (ie, Mickey Mouse Waffle Iron, Hello Kitty Waffle Iron & Sandwich Maker, Animal-Shaped Pancake Griddle).

Micky Mouse pancakes are about as creative as we get. Well, other than using cookie cutters for biscuits 🙂

    Those look delicious!

When the kids were younger, I would make smiley face pancakes. Chocolate chips for the eyes and nose and whip cream for a big smile. Always a favorite in my house!

I’ve never had those, but they look delish! I love making creative little shapes out of food. I like to surprise my 7 year old by cutting her sandwich into different shapes. It’s always a nice little treat for her. 🙂
