Seven Fun Free Events in the City

New York can be an expensive place to live and have fun. Temptation seems to lurk in every corner, calling out to splurge, splurge, splurge! Yet you don’t have to break the bank  if you do your homework before heading out to enjoy yourself!

I discovered some Latinalicious places to have fun that are FREE or cheap enough to feel like they are FREE! Enjoy and of course, don’t forget to stash that saved ca$h!

**********

1. Hudson River Park’s RiverRocks hosts summer concerts that are free!  Concerts are scheduled for the following dates:  July 9, July 23 and August 13. Doors open at 6 PM. Click HERE for info.

2. River Flicks provides free family friendly children’s movies, as well as adult only shows. Family friendly children’s shows are shown on Friday nights on Pier 46. Adult only shows can be seen on Wednesdays. Children’s shows usually consist of new and classic shows, while adult movies are blockbusters from 2008! Click HERE for an event schedule.

3. Bryant Park offers free movies on Mondays. You can bring a blanket, as well as a picnic dinner with wine to enjoy the flick. Or if you prefer you can sit on lawn chairs, provided by the park. The movies start at dusk. The park tends to be popular in the city so arrive early to pick your spot! Click HERE for the movie schedule.

4. Need something a bit more aggressive than a flick? What about a boxing match? You can catch a free boxing match on July 30 at 7 PM (July 31 if it rains). Click HERE for more details.

5. If Broadways your thing, but the costs aren’t, head on over to “Broadway in Bryant Park”. Bryant Park is hosting several popular shows like STOMP, Little Mermaid, Rock of Ages, Naked Boys Singing, Billy Elliot and so many others! Shows run from 12:30PM to 1:30 PM. Click HERE for more info.
