Nail polish, don’t chip me off!

Nails

What I really wanted to say, was piss me off.  I love manicures but never get them.  I rather go with unpolished nails than spend the money for a manicure that lasts me 5 hours.  At my job I am constantly looking at proofs and artwork.  Working with people and having to point out areas in the graphics that need a little attention.

Yet what actually needed attention were my nails.

I would at times tuck in my fingers to avoid showing my unpolished nails.  I felt they made me look sloppy or lazy.

I thought I would never find something simple, until now…

Although this nail polish has been around for about a year or so, I don’t think it caught on as much as it probably should have.  I only recently found out about it.  Shellac nails, gelac or gel nails – it goes by several different names- is amazing.  Unlike harsh acrylic nails, this manicure product goes over your natural nail and gets heat set with UV lights.  It seals onto your nails for 2 weeks!  I finally tried it 3 days ago and my nails are still great.  I’d rather pay the $20 or so then spend $7 -$10 on a regular manicure that will fail me within hours.

I clean, cook, work hard, chase children, drive and the nails are still on point. I love it. Do yourself a favor and at least try it. Add it to your day of beauty, mine in Sundays. I won’t be skipping the manicures any more and because it lasts so long without getting ruined, I wouldn’t have to do it every Sunday.

Psst…they now have an at home kit selling through Ulta! LOVE!

I think that’s my next stop. 🙂

Have you used Shellac/Gel nails?
