Come Out & Play Festival In NYC

I know its late notice but I wanted to get the word out on an event going on in Times Square. Its a three day festival called Come Out & Play. I discovered it yesterday as I walked home. Of course I had to stop and chat with the organizers to find out why it was causing such a traffic jam!

The event features a variety of FREE activities that can be enjoyed with the family or on a date (what better way to tell if you’ll get along)! My favorite game so far was “Paparazzi”. At the start, a few players are assigned the role of celebrity, while the rest act as the paparazzi. About 40 teams,of 3-4 people,  have to either look for the “celebrities” or hide from the “paparazzi”. The weapon, a camera phone or digital camera, is used to capture weird and unflattering poses of the celebrities (imagine getting caught picking your nose!). Just as in the real world the more unflattering the better the price! To help  the paparazzi,  celebrities are tracked by GPS, in this “cat-and-mouse game of ambushes, paranoia and scandalous photos.”

Young players can participate in the activities if they are accompanied by an adult 21 or older. Games will take place rain OR shine. To find out which games are available click HERE.

I plan on joining the Earpiece game (description below), when I leave church! Hopefully, I’m one of the three left standing.

Three agents are each given an earpiece and must press play simultaneously. Twelve minutes later, only one of you will win. In between, the Controller will voice instructions to each of you as you try to work out the rules of this little game and exactly how you’ll win a future in the agency. You may find yourself making new friends, making conversation, even dancing. Whatever it takes to play.

Hope to see you there!
