This Mother’s Day, Latina On a Mission and ViveMejor.com want to celebrate the unsung heroes in a multitude of households: single Mothers.
According to the census, there are over 10 million single moms with children under 18. They are driven and successful. They work. They nurture. They do. All. The. Time.
Today we want to recognize three very special single Moms. These women were nominated by friends and family during Latina On a Mission’s Twitter and Facebook call to action. They are madres solteras and they are inspirational!
Today we celebrate you, and all other single mothers, for what you do!

I am saluting all the single mothers in the world for being brave enough to fight for their children. Thank you very much for sharing this post. I hope that this Mother’s day has made a lot of people realize about the moms out there who are willing to risk their lives alone just for the sake of their children. So, what’s the next project here on latina on a mission?

Great post. People forget how hard it is to be a single mom. I have friends who are and they have it hard.
I love it, being a single mother is not easy, single mothers put so much passion, work and dedication in this job and I really admire my own mother who got divorced when we were really young (brother and me) and invested all her faith in us.

Thanks so much for recognizing single moms. Being a parent is hard work, but when you are a single mom, the responsibilities pile on. I have so many friends going through this. I hope Christine had a joyful Mother’s Day thanks to the gift Dove and Vive Mejor sent her. And I will be praying for her health.

I loved this post and the recognition to single moms. The women featured here are pretty amazing and they deserve the shout out. I was inspire by Vanessa’s concept of “parenting on purpose” that’s a great way of approaching motherhood and in her case being a young mother and taking responsibility in such an empowering way is truly inspiring. I hope she enjoyed the gift from ViveMejor and that all three of them (and yourself!) had an awesome Mother’s Day!
Mothers are our unsung heroes for their endless love and sacrifice. Single mamis take this to the umpth power. What’s so special is that these women are doing the only thing they know how to do, keep on keepin’ on because their children need them to. Thanks to you and ViveMejor for saluting Christine, Amelia, and Alexandra and in doing so, highlighting their daily acts of courage so we can salute them.
What an amazing, inspiring post! I know too many fabulous single moms, it would be impossible to think of just one. They are each an example of selflessness and resilience.
I’ve always admired single moms and have always said it’s amazing how you do everything without constant in-home support. Christine is even more amazing for undergoing a battle with cancer. How wonderful of Vive Mejor to sponsor this and bring more awareness to single moms!

Thank you Viva Mejor for featuring such powerful women! I have so much admiration for the single mother – they are some of the most amazing women I know. Two really come to mind – Lucy & Rosa. They are raising great kids while working a full time job with little help from their former partners.

Single moms inspire me, especially when they are doing good for themselves and their family. If you ask me they are truly hero’s in my book.
