It’s Sabroso Saturday (Translation: Tasty Saturday)! The day when we share recipes that have helped us stretch our budget, our imagination and our taste buds, without sacrificing our health!

I love Frappuccinos! However, I haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy them as much as I like because of the Starbucks cost factor. Thankfully, I was able to obtain the below Mint Mocha Frappuccino Light recipe from elige leche, the Spanish version of the got milk? website.
After savoring this treat, I plan on making it for my girlfriends. Its the perfect drink for the holidays and an extra large serving has fewer calories than the Starbucks version (approximately 20 calories less for a 16 oz. cup)! So not only do you save money making the below recipe at home, but you also save your thighs! Woot!

Chocolate and mint! I think for holidays we might drink it fresh from the blender, and in the warmer weather we could freeze it.

This might be a stupid question, but about how much ice did you use?

Katrina: It’s not a dumb question at all! I didn’t want to make my frappe too strong so I added a lot of ice, which was about 16 cubes. However, if you do not want to dilute the coffee I would say about 1/4 cup of ice or approximately 4-6 cubes. Also you can always start with less ice and add more based on taste. Hope this helps!

I am starting to love Saturdays even more because of the recipes. I am not much of a cook so new recipes are always appreciated.
