Recently, I had the opportunity to work with Pampers on a $300 gift card giveaway, with the expectations that the card would be used to shower an expecting Mami with everything she needs to welcome her little miracle into this world. It was an opportunity I welcomed being that I know how expensive a newborn can be.
As amazing as that giveaway was, Latina On a Mission is partnering with Pampers for something even BIGGER! As part of Pampers’ Little Miracles campaign and its ongoing commitment to Hispanic babies and families, Pampers is throwing a special baby shower for a mother who is expecting her own little miracle in the coming months.
I’m excited to announce that this giveaway has TWO parts, providing two opportunities to win BIG!
Part ONE: Latina On a Mission’s Giveaway
In the first stage, Pampers wants to give an expectant Latina the opportunity to win a $500 Gift Card. Why? To prepare for their little milagro/miracle of course!
To enter the first stage of the giveaway you must meet the qualifications noted below. If you meet the qualifications noted below, or know of someone else who does, let me know by answering the mandatory giveaway question below.
Part TWO: A Personalized Baby Shower paid by Pampers!
During the second part, Pampers is working with four bloggers, Jennifer, Rory, Marcela and myself to select the Pampers’ Little Miracles campaign winner.
The winner of the $500 giftcard will be entered for a chance to win the memorable Pampers baby shower.
Why is this baby shower so special?
- Winner will be featured on Todo Bebé, a leading Spanish-language baby care show that airs on the Univision network
- Pampers will provide the expectant Hispanic mother with a baby shower that celebrates her “little miracles’” arrival with her family and friends
- Pampers is willing to arrange travel for up to two family members.

I am nominating myself. I am a latina who is pregnant with baby #2 after 13 yrs. I am starting over from scratch. My first baby I struggled alot as a single mother. After having problems getting pregnant, we found out I was pregnant and we were so happy. About week 14, I almost lost my little miracle but my little miracle is stronger than I am. My kids are the most important part of my life. A baby to me is the unity between 2 people. A creation that takes the best from 2 people and combines it into this miracle. I am so ready to be mom to this little miracle I am holding inside of me. Please pick me! Gracias!

I would like to nominate Alba Garza. I have only known Alba for 7 short years but I have come to look on her as a little sister. She recently got married to a wonderful guy and they are finally expecting. She has a 13 yr old son and I have seen how she struggled to raise him to be the fine young man that he is. She is great with children. Although I am not part of her family I am looking forward to spoiling her little miracle just like I have spoiled all of the rest of my real brothers and sisters children.

Muchisimas gracias por esta gran oportunidad! I want to nominate myself. I am 25 years old and my husband and I are expecting our first little miracle! 2 years ago we decided it was time to expand our little family and we had been struggling with fertility treatments since then. In May I experimented with a new drug and my doctor told me it had not worked. I was told they will double the dose and all I could do is pray that this time it worked. That is exactly what I did, prayed, prayed, and prayed some more. I did not take the second round of the medications and I was waiting and waiting for mother nature, and she did not pay me a visit in June. On July 2nd I got a negative pregnancy test, dissapointed I went on with my day. The following week I started to experience some unsual symptoms and on July 6th to my surprise I confirmed I was pregnant! I followed up with my specialist and he told me that the sac was very small and he hoped that it will latch properly. I went back in for another visit two weeks later and he heard a very weak heart beat, he told me to pray and be prepared for anything because this time he was really scared for a miscarriage. My husband and I both started crying and there we prayed and hoped hat everything was going to be ok. After two long weeks I went back to the doctor to hear a strong, healthy heartbeat! It was the most amazing sound I had ever heard and I will never forget it. My changes of a miscarriage have been reduced to 3%. Since the day I found out I was pregnant I’ve called my baby a little miracle and I cannot wait to hold my little miracle in my arms. :’)
If I am due in Feb can I still participate?

My first pregnancy was an ectopic, I went into laparoscopic surgery. The second one a miscarriage, the third one another ectopic, this time my right fallopian tube exploded, another laparoscopy. My faith is bigger than that, and so was my belief in la voluntad de Dios y la Virgen.
Then, another miscarriage. My husband was eager to have a kid and so he suggested InVitro which did NOT work. Nov 2006 came and another miscarriage. In January 2007, only a couple months after my last failed pregnancy, my favorite person in the world passed away in Venezuela, my grandma. And 6 months later I was pregnant with my son (Now 3 years old) I swore I was never going to go through another stressful pregnancy….
But, I had another 2 miscarriages after having the blessing of my miracle son. Now, at 38 years old I’m pregnant again, starting my second trimester and very blessed to be able to give my son a sibling.
My husband, also Latino, is the best father so I have to take advantage of that ;). My mother moved to Chicago from Venezuela a year ago to be with my son and now she is extremely happy that she’s going to be a grandmother for a second time around in February. Todas las personas deberían aceptar la voluntad de Dios, es cuando él quiere, y todo lo que nos manda es por algo. No dejen de creer en la fé que esa mueve montañas….

I would like to nominate myself…I am currently expecting a little miracle and I can’t wait to meet her/him! This is my second child after 10 years I finally found someone I would want to have another child with and we are both very excited! Although I have not had any major complications this pregnancy is totally different from my first, not one day has passed where I have felt great. But I know I will get through it and it will be totally worth it when I have my little bundle of joy in my arms. Good luck to the rest of the mommies to be as I know a couple of them 🙂
