Its been so long since I’ve written a blog post about my family and what’s been going on in our lives. We’ve been so busy, it’s been hard for me to carve out some time to blog! Thankfully, the boys are back in school so I’ve been able to catch up on quite a bit.
So what have I been up to? Well…
1.I’ve been doing some redecorating. My neighbor gave me a wall mounted candle holder with electric candles that I decided to place in my bedroom above my faux fireplace. In order to do so, I had to remove my flat screen TV and prep the wall.
Before:
After:
After I spackled and painted the wall, I had to clean up the splatters on the floor because my wonderfully, rambunctious puppy Shadow decided he wanted to play while I was painting. The splatters were caused when I tried to put him in the playpen and had to chase him around [Note to self put dog in playpen before attempting any redecorating project!].
Honestly, the clean up took much longer than the spackling and painting! Below is just one of the many splatter.
2. Over the holidays, I retrieved an old computer I had left in my Mom’s place. She threatened to toss it so I had to race over and get it before she did.
Since picking it up, I’ve been trying to download my old pics, stories/poems (WOW I was sappy!) and countless other items to GASP! floppy disks. Yes its that old! Its taken me a few days but I’ve uploaded almost everything to floppy disks. I’m hoping to download the info to another less ancient Dell computer that uses floppy disks and CDs this weekend to then transfer by USB flash drive to yet another computer. I can’t wait to finish so I can toss both of the older computers. I already have too many to count but if I was counting than AHEM I have 5 computers/laptops.
Below is a picture of the computer.
3. I’ve house-broken Shadow, our mini Australian Shepard. Woot!
Poor thing hasn’t been able to go outside yet since he’s missing his rabies shot. He’s scheduled to get it January 15. I can’t wait!
4. Its official! I have a designated work area. The space makes it so much easier to work from home. I’m even more excited because it cost me next to nothing, $226.43 total! I got a great deal at Target on the desk ($97.99 & FREE S&H) and bookshelf ($95.00 plus S&H) during the after holiday sale (Psst it’s still going on!). I was also able to use a coupon I found online for a total saving of $40 buckaroos! I’m so overjoyed I’ve been singing all week!
5. I’m redesigning my blog and plan on incorporating a few of the items you, my readers, suggested in my survey. I’m speaking to different designers and feel like a child in a candy store! I have to admit there are so many talented individuals that its taking me longer than expected. I’m hoping to select one and have the new design up in about 2 months . Stay tuned- I have some great things in store, including videos to cover some of the topics suggested.
So what projects are you working on in 2011? Let me know! I would love to hear what’s going on in your life!

Thank you @ angelica! Its been pretty hectic these last few weeks, but thats always a good thing 😉
@ Alicia: I am sooooo loving my new space! I was even happier cause it was so inexpensive. I’m still have a few things to pick up but I already feel much more organized. Btw, love your new site design 🙂
Love the new work space. Your my inspiration, I have so many things to do but can never find the time. This year, I do plan to do the following:
Get organized
Stop shopping (ha – well we will see about this one) 🙂
Re-do the girls room
Re-do the half a bath in my room
Hope to keep you posted…
BTW – what a beautiful perrito…
Migdalia,
I really don’t do giveaways, and the twitter streams at twitter parties zoom by so fast my brain explodes a little, and Sabrosa Saturdays – I try but I have the culinary tastes of an 8 year old boy – except not as refined. So I read all the time, but never get to comment.
But today is different.
• Your construction and engineering skills are awesome.
• ahhhhh floppy disks – memories
• cats come pre-house broken – a box, some sandy stuff – and voila
My projects? It’s all going into my two blogs – fills all the available hours I have. And I have named my year – that’s an adventure. And waiting for a chance to comment again on your blog. Well – now that one is checked off the list.
Oh, and Blissdom coming up – need to learn lots.
God Bless and Keep Migdalia
