Did you know that the U.S. generates over 34 million tons of waste each year, and 14 percent of that is from food scraps alone? Talk about giving new meaning to Mami’s dicho/saying,
“¡Comete eso por que hay niños que quisieran ese bocado!”
[Translation: Eat that because there are children who would love to have that mouthful!]
Regardless of the language, English or Spanish, we don’t want anyone’s Thanksgiving leftovers to become a statistic this holiday season! In fact, I’m so dead set against it that I’m excited to share suggestions on how to turn those left-overs into a savory/sabroso meal, this Tuesday at a virtual cooking class with the fabulous Celebrity Chef George Duran. We’ll have fun, share suggestions and get quick and easy ideas on how to turn your leftovers into left-‘uppers.’ Mmm Mmm Mmm it’s a class you won’t want to miss!
Below are the details.
What:
A virtual cooking school class called Turning Leftovers into Left-‘Uppers’ with the fabulous Celebrity chef George Duran. When: Tuesday, November 15, at 1 p.m. ET. It will last 30 minutes. Where: TheMotherhood – here is the link to the page where the class will be held: https://www.themotherhood.com/talk/show/id/62304 About the class: With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we will focus on methods for upgrading leftovers into another special meal, rather than simply re-heating them, making sandwiches or throwing them away. Celebrity chef George Duran will join us via live video feed to demonstrate one of his Thanksgiving left-‘upper’ recipes and answer any questions you might have. You can use the text chat beneath the video player to ask questions and share your own ideas! |
I’ll be there with nine other bloggers to co-host the class, and I hope you’ll join us! The bloggers who will be co-hosting with me are:
Deb, Just Short of Crazy
Jayme, Tater Twins
Jennifer, Eighty MPH Mom
Jen, The Big Binder
