It’s here! The National Decorate Your Home for the Holidays Week begins today, November 16. I’m so excited. Why? Because I get to share my #BIGHoliday Kitchen Reveal!
My kitchen is pretty small. It can feel claustrophobic if anyone is in the room with me when I cook so I went with a very minimalist approach. I went with earth tones and added pops of color.
Decorating put me in such a festive mood! I even cooked up a holiday favorite, a lighter version of the original Puerto Rican Arroz con Leche. It was sabroso/scrumptious! My youngest loved the treat and how I served it… on a very festive gold serving tray!
In the picture above, you’ll see two glass mugs. I fell in love with these Chalk it Up glass mugs. They can be used in so many different ways. You can serve festive holiday drinks and add a candy cane to give it a festive touch. You can also use them to serve deserts, like ice cream or pudding, like I did above. Or, like below, you can plant herbs!
Fresh herbs can make such a difference when cooking and these containers were the perfect size for my kitchen. FYI: A set of 4 mugs cost $10. I purchased three because I absolutely loved them!
I found a beautiful red and white towel set, with matching microfiber reversible drying mat, that gave the room a pop of color. I also added an anti-fatigue floor mat in brown. I was so excited to see that Big Lots carried anti-fatigue mats. It’s like heaven for your feet. I totally feel like I am gelling it with this mat. Btw, my neighbor paid more than $100 for hers. I’m happy to say mine only cost $14!
The candle centerpiece I showcased in my previous post really brightens up the room. I purchased two sets of the 3 Pk Flameless LED Candles – one in white and the other in a a mauve and sparkly gold. They are beautiful! I also love that they are remote controlled. In the photo below, you can see the lit candles. They fit the minimalist decor and look so chic.

I agree with Dawn… I will NOT decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving and hate to see it get lost between Halloween and Christmas. But the day after Thanksgiving I’ll be going crazy decorating for Christmas. I do leave Christmas decorations up until mid-January, though. 🙂

Yes, we definitely decorate for the holidays. We start the morning after Thanksgiving. However, we start hanging our outdoor lights a week or two earlier (but don’t turn them on until after Thanksgiving).
