Latina Smart Internship_2013

In 2011, Kmart launched Latina Smart on Facebook. Shortly after, Kmart announced the $25,000 Latina Smart Fund. This year, the program was re-formatted to meet the needs of the ever-changing business landscape for women and minorities, namely Latinas.

Latina Smart’s newest program is an amazing career building opportunity consisting of a ten (10) week PAID internship program. The internship program will expose five (5) interns to the fast- paced corporate world of retail. Interns will gain on-the-job experience, develop industry connections and receive mentorship and career counseling. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers 2011 student survey, paid internships correlate to job-search success and did far better in the job market than their peers without experience. No surprise there!

University students majoring in communications, public relations, business management, marketing, fashion and retail can submit their resume and cover letter to On the site, applicants will also have an opportunity to tell Kmart, in 200 words or less, why they are up for the challenge and are the best fit for the program.
