Here’s to Messy Milestones and Happy Kids! #Sponsored

This post is brought to you by our generous sponsor, Clorox.

As Moms, we often encounter messes. It comes with the territory, especially when you’re a sports mom. Funky, mud-splattered clothes, socks, and cleats are part of raising a son who loves soccer. And as much as I support him in his dreams, it’s really, and I mean really hard, to support that sweaty smell and mud he tracks through my home.

The first time he came back from a game I was surprised by how much of a mess he made! I heard the stories from other moms but I never experienced it. My oldest wasn’t into sports; he was a tech buff but my youngest, on the other hand, is all about sports.

Living in an apartment means I don’t have a mud room where he can drop his stuff before coming inside, so I try to get him into the bathroom as quickly as possible. Not just to take a shower, but so I can try to keep all the mud (and smell!) confined to one place. In the end, it was fruitless. It felt like the mess was everywhere. Worse, the mud seems to get stuck on the floor.

I knew I had to do something! I needed a solution that would clean and disinfect several areas in the bathroom and get rid of the mess in my apartment. Thankfully, I came across the perfect solution! I learned I could disinfect hard surfaces, like countertops, sinks, light switches, floors (!!!), and glazed tile by doing the following with Clorox Bleach:

  • Use 1/2 cup of Clorox ® Regular Bleach 2 with CLOROMAX ® in 1 gallon of water
  • Thoroughly wet surface with the solution and allow it to remain on the surface for 5 minutes
  • Rinse with clean water and dry

And for a quick clean, Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner + Bleach gets the job done and also disinfects. Here’s how:

  • Using the spray bottle and a cloth, remove excess dirt
  • Spray product 4–6 inches from surface until thoroughly wet
  • Let stand for 30 seconds
  • Rinse or wipe clean

It helped. A LOT.

Not only do both products disinfect everything he touches and/or walks on, it also made the bathroom and apartment feel clean. Add to that the memories it gave me of when my Mom would clean with Clorox. I remember coming home to that fresh smell and thinking, “Yes! She already cleaned so I don’t have to help!” [Now I understand why she cleaned so much!] I’m sure now my sons feel the same way when they come home and smell it!

From his first pair of cleats and his first uniform to the first victory celebration with all the messy foods, we’ve celebrated some amazing milestones together.

Messy milestones are exciting and memorable. I treasure these moments with him, knowing once he becomes an adult, I’ll see less of him. Yet, as much as I cry inside imagining that day, after that first soccer moment, I realized that I have the perfect solution to handle our children’s mess. Having the powerful clean of Clorox Bleach on hand means I don’t have to worry again.

So here’s to messy milestones and happy kids! No matter which milestone you’re celebrating, Clorox will be there to not only ensure those memories stay with you forever but give you a clean canvas for more firsts to come. After all, clean comes first. What comes next is everything.

Cherish it.
