My youngest and I have been spending a lot of time together. Working from home has it’s perks! It also opens up the door to some very weird conversations. Goodness knows we’ve had a few crazy conversations over the years! I’m still trying to figure out if this is just a boy thing.

Can you pee and talk at the same time?
Since we had opposing views, we had to put it to the test. Yes, yours truly is a dedicated Mom. And, FYI, I can pee and talk at the same time! It’s one of my superpowers. 😉
Microwaves Are Fickle
After inserting an aluminum covered taco into the microwave, and starting a mini fire, the teen did some research. It seems that wrinkled aluminum foil can catch fire but aluminum foil that has NOT been wrinkled can be used in the microwave safely. Of course, he wanted to test this out. I think I was pretty calm when I screamed out, “Over my dead body!”
They’re Not Burnt. They’re Crispy.
Watching my work promoting clients has taught my youngest a thing or two about marketing. Case in point, after making semi burnt muffins, I told my son, “They’re not burnt. They’re crispy.” His response, “That’s a positive spin. I got one better…” And, we proceeded to come up with a variety of creative ways to make those muffins sound good!
Lesson learned: Kids pay attention to what we do.

How do you hug girls?
This question caused a great discussion. I even got a few hugs from it! (With teens, you have take them when you can!) Below are the variety of hugs we came up with. Feel free to add your own in a comment!
1. Bro Hug:
- One armed hug, bump shoulders, pat on the back, separate.
2. Girl Friend Hug:
Note, the Girl Friend Hug is not to be confused with the Girlfriend Hug. We’re not there yet. Thank goodness!
- Two arm hug, squeeze once quickly, separate.
3. Baby Hug:
- Two arm hug. With your dominant hand make a circular motion on the baby’s back while rocking back and forth.
4. Mom Hug:
- Outside: One arm pat on back then quickly jump back before anyone notices.
- Inside: A great big two arm hug!

My girls and I bear hug. And while I think of it, I think we all bear hug at home. It is all or nothing. Haha!
