$10,000 Scholarship Opportunity for Hispanic Mothers AND High School Seniors

A scholarship that will help 6 mothers and 6 high school seniors planning to attend an accredited U.S. university.

College Degree
I returned to college after having my first child. Because of lack of funding, it took me almost ten years to complete my degree; however, this need not be the case for you.  “Sueña Sin Límites” (‘Dream Without Limits’) is providing mothers with an invaluable opportunity, a scholarship that will help 6 mothers and 6 high school seniors planning to attend an accredited U.S. university during the 2013-2014 school year.

The Clorox Company, in partnership with the  Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), launched this scholarship program to assist college-bound Hispanic high school Seniors and Hispanic moms whose plans for their own education were interrupted when they had children.  To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay detailing their life and academic goals, and their plans to achieve them by responding to the following questions:

  1. What are your educational aspirations, what are your plans to reach them, and what support are you seeking to make them a reality?
  2. How will this scholarship allow you to make your biggest dreams a reality, and how will your transformation allow you to give back to your family and community?

The 12 “Sueña Sin Límites” scholarships will be distributed as follows:

  • Mothers: Six $10,000 scholarships for moms 25-45 years of age who wish to enroll full-time or part-time in a degree-seeking program in a two-year, four-year or online U.S. accredited institution to continue their education
  • Students: Six $10,000 scholarships for high school seniors enrolling in degree-seeking program in a four-year U.S. accredited university

To apply, click to go to the Scholarship application. Deadline December 21, 2012.

This is an amazing opportunity! I don’t think I qualify since I’m not 25 🙁 too bad. Goodluck to those who enter.

Scholarships are so, so, so valuable! While I don’t qualify for this one, I’ve always got my eyes peeled for them.
