I’ve spoken about the Wii a few times on my blog because I love how it’s helped my family and I bond, while having fun. It’s provided us with loads of fun, laughter and has even settled a few arguements (Example: Winner doesn’t have to do dishes). Honestly, my boys and I couldn’t live without it!
When you purchase a Wii bundle you get the following:
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii – With 20 million games sold worldwide, its one of the most widely enjoyed games for the Wii system.
- Featuring iconic characters from the classic Super Mario Bros. series, the game lets up to four friends or family members play together in a fast-paced adventure (additional accessories required; sold separately).
I also like that you can use your Wii for a slew of other things like:
- surfing the web
- parental controls that limit content children can access
- sending/receiving emails
- connecting with other players
- watch movies and TV episodes from Netflix
- a photo channel that lets you display digital pictures stored on an SD memory card
Games have also become much more inexpensive with Nintendo Selects, the hot-selling series of fun, family-friendly Wii games offered at $19.99 or lower. It’s a great bargin that packs a punch!

Let’s talk! What’s your favorite feature on the Wii?

My sons are avid gamers. It’s the one area in which their 7 year age difference appears to disappear. It’s also what allows us to bond as a family.
I purchased a Wii bundle several years ago when Circuit City was going out of business. It was, and still is one of the best “toys” I ever purchased. Not only did I catch a good sale, but its given my family and friends loads of enjoyment over the years that’s fun, active and seems to bond those who play regardless of their age differences!
Since I’ve purchased mine, several family members and friends also brought their own so we are able to trade games and host game nights. This holiday season we got Kirby. It was top on my Tween’s holiday wishlist and he hasn’t stopped playing since!
I have to tell you it saved my sanity a few times when I had the tween and teen’s friends underfoot. Normally, the one room they share is a bevy of noise but after opening the game they allowed me to relax, at least for a bit! I admit I was eventually sucked in. I haven’t been able to beat them YET. They don’t realize I’ve practicing during my blogging hiatus. I can’t wait for the day that I can say “BOOYA! How you like me now?” while thumping my chest! Not very feminine I know but I have to show them I rock!
I even got another Wii game for Three King’s Day because seriously Wii ROCKS. I must admit I opened it and have been practicing, I need to be prepared for when they open their gift. My competitive nature has been activated and I can’t back down now!
Let’s talk: Do you have a Wii? What’s your favorite game?

Thanks to my wonderful friend Carolyn, I am now a Lucille Roberts Ambassador. I’m beyond excited! I know that this will help me meet my resolution.
My workout sessions started today. In fairytale Ms. Latina land, the boys would wake up and get dressed on time, the dogs would behave and I would be able to get my pre-workout during the 20 block walk to the gym so that I can start my 7:30am training session on time. Of course in reality, Ms. Latina land is very different and I have to fight for my “Me” time.
Is it worth it?
Of course!
Why?
Because I am worth it!
I was invigorated just walking into Lucille Roberts. Seeing the gleaming workout machines, hearing the warm good morning as I passed the check in area and feeling the trainer’s energy invigorated me. I was hyped and raring to go.
Of course, this was before I started my session. My trainer, Diana, went at a pace I could follow but I must admit my legs were like tembleque/pudding and my muscles, or non-muscles in my case, were screaming BASTA/STOP. And this was only after 10minutes, I still had 20 more to go!
Thankfully, I am more determined to lose these 35 pounds than my body is to workout and was able to complete the session. I just hope the next time I’m not so rushed that I don’t wear my pants backward! Yes, Ms. Latina fantasy land…
Let’s Talk! Are you starting a workout regimen this year? How do you incorporate it into your busy life? Share your tips in a comment.

Disclosure: I am a sponsored Lucille Roberts Ambassador; however, all the pain, aches and lost weight is all mine!

Its the first week of 2012 and I’m excited to get started on the right foot.
Like many, I have made of list of goals/resolutions that I would like to accomplish. Actually, in honor of 2012, I have made 12! Some may seem redundant, some simple, and others so complex I’m not sure how I will accomplish them but I have a dollar and a blog and I’m not afraid to use them!
So here goes:
- Write one handwritten note, to be mailed or hand delivered, to a family member or friend for each day in 2012. I started this project because I think a hand written note can convey so much more than a text, Facebook post or even a tweet. It can be saved and cherished for years to come, passed down through the generations and treasured like other formats can’t.
- Laugh with gusto each and everyday, which brings me to number 3.
- Find humor in everyday situations.
- Remove the words “can’t”, “can not”, “failure” and “fail” from my vocabulary. I believe words are important; as a result, I will not say I can’t or cannot. I will instead look for ways that I can. I will not place myself in a box, too many people do that already. Because really what is a failure? It doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It means you’ve tried.
- Compliment myself at least one time each day in front of others. As a Latina woman, I was taught to not boast, to draw attention to myself and to stay silent. I say “BASTA! No more!” 2012 is the year to own my words and myself!
- Commit to wearing colored undies every single day. That means white, taupe, beige, and black can NOT be worn in 2012. I am wearing the brightest, laciest, and most garishly sexy undies every single day. I will no longer wait for a special occasion. Why not join me? Trust me, even if you are the only one who knows it, it’ll be sure to have you strutting!
- Lose
40, 30, 20 pounds this year. Aw shucks even 10 sounds good! I don’t want to be a stick figure, no matter what the latest fashion magazines say. I like my curves and I am sure the men do as well.
- Take a 15 minute walk around the neighborhood everyday while smiling! Yes, that means some days I will be pasting it on but who cares!
- Call someone every single day… before 9pm! No cell phone restrictions for me LOL
- Work less, de-stress and make a mess…of everything! If it isn’t fun, if it doesn’t give me joy, if I can’t get down and dirty than it’s not for me. This year, I promise to be me, whether others like it or not.
- Say YES more often. Yes, to a weekday date. Yes, to a longer lunch. Yes, to life! I only have one to live and YES I want to live it!
- Love unconditionally whether they give it back or even deserve it. I am going to live passionately. I am going to love passionately. I am going to be ME.
