With the weather getting warmer, there is no longer a need to stay cooped up in your homes, especially in cities when you should be able to find a slew of inexpensive or free events to great outings for yourself or for you and the family.

This weekend, Saturday, March 20th, 2010,  the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, located at 212 West 83rd Street, is FREE all day from 10am to 5pm. For those families with babies or toddlers, space is provided to hold strollers; however, please be aware that it’s limited. If you can travel without a stroller, I suggest you do so.

They also have a few Spanish events that were worth mentioning like a Bilingual Sing-along and a Baby Loves Salsa class! Can you imagine? You may be inspiring the future J-Lo or Mark Anthony!

To show  just how large her murals are, I asked my little one to stand in the picture.

The ring worn by the girl in the last piece, shown below enlarged, states  “Libertad” which means liberty in Spanish, as well as the date: 1898. The date references the end of Spanish colonial rule in Puerto Rico. For those of you interested in reading more about Puerto Rico and its struggle for liberty, click HERE.

Are you feeling the itch? I know I am! Whenever the weather starts to get warmer, I feel the urge to run away to a different setting, away from the rat race of New York City. The urge feels even stronger  since daylight savings time so I have to start  dreaming planning.

For my vacation getaway,  I need weather that will let me relax away from the buildings and skyscrapers I see on a day to day basis. I need to enjoy the scenery, the thrill of a great game, or endless shopping, dining and theaters. There’s a saying that a dream is just a dream until it is written so today I write down my dream to take a leisurely vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets by visiting one of the Hiltons, Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center, in the hopes that it will make this dream become a reality! I’m sure you’ll agree that all work and no play will just make Ms. Latina a boring girl! In fact, I think everyone needs some excitement in their lives! Who knows maybe you can join me?!
