As a child I collected comic books. It helped me bond with my oldest brother and our closest cousins (all boys), who lived in Harlem. I loved reading about all the super hero adventures. Yet, better then the stories were the fun times we had reenacting the scenes! My one pet peeve was the lack of female power. While the boys got tons of options I was limited to the damsel in distress. And since I knew I could be fierce (I had to be feisty to play with all boys!), I wanted to actually play a super hero who was fierce.
