EXTREME NYC Parking (Video)

When I first learned how to drive I was terrified to drive in Manhattan. The yellow cabs are BEASTS. They stop short. Swerve at a moments notice and will cut you off to grab a fare! Yet, driving does NOT compare to parking.

It doesn’t matter if you live in the Bronx, Brooklyn or Manhattan, you are guarenteed to have a hard time finding a parking space. I will admit I rather pay for parking than try to find a space. I’m sure you’re thinking “That’s not frugal” but I bet you’ll change your mind after seeing the below extreme parking.

And that is why I rather pay for monthly parking!

Let’s talk! Are you guilty of extreme parking? Let us know in a comment!

  1. Talk about a tight squeeze! Wow! I was impressed by the ability of the driver to squeeze in without causing damage there :P I grew up near Chicago and had some parallel parking nightmares there, but my dad always taught be about the costly indoor parking ramps–MUCH EASIER! I also lived in Miami for a while and would get so frustrated trying to park by my apartment after work. Driving for hours just to go home was a pain. But I never went to such extremes as in the video LOL!

  2. Omagaa!! My parents were both NYC taxi drivers and I remember we lived in a one way street in Brooklyn. My mom used to make one of my brothers or I get out of the car to hold the spot until she went around the block to position herself to parallel park!! Also the whole MWF one side, Tues and Thurs the other! Too much work. Now that I live in Rochester, I always remind my friends about my parents being taxi drivers before they get into the car with me. I still drive like a mad woman. At least I have been spoiled here though with driveways and parking lots. I don’t parallel park lol.
