I Rock, You Rock, Wii ROCKS!

by Migdalia Rivera

My sons are avid gamers. It’s the one area in which their 7 year age difference appears to disappear. It’s also what allows us to bond as a family.

I purchased a Wii bundle several years ago when Circuit City was going out of business. It was, and still is one of the best “toys” I ever purchased. Not only did I catch a good sale, but its given my family and friends loads of enjoyment over the years that’s fun, active and seems to bond those who play regardless of their age differences!

Since I’ve purchased mine, several family members and friends also brought their own so we are able to trade games and host game nights. This holiday season we got Kirby. It was top on my Tween’s holiday wishlist and he hasn’t stopped playing since!

I have to tell you it saved my sanity a few times when I had the tween and teen’s friends underfoot. Normally, the one room they share is a bevy of noise but after opening the game they allowed me to relax, at least for a bit! I admit I was eventually sucked in. I haven’t been able to beat them YET. They don’t realize I’ve practicing during my blogging hiatus. I can’t wait for the day that I can say “BOOYA! How you like me now?” while thumping my chest! Not very feminine I know but I have to show them I rock!

I even got another Wii game for Three King’s Day because seriously Wii ROCKS. I  must admit I opened it and have been practicing, I need to be prepared for when they open their gift. My competitive nature has been activated and I can’t back down now!

Let’s talk: Do you have a Wii? What’s your favorite game?

You are so right, Wii is a lot of fun. My favorite game is Mario Kart, and I still can’t win against my teen daughter, and I’ve been driving real cars for 25 years! haha

Very nice picture, by the way, your boys look like they’re having a blast!

LOL – when you say Booya – can you record that and upload on you tube?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Wii – I like the Wii Fit Plus and my husband and son love Super Mario.

Enjoy!

My 2 yo is addicted to the word, “booya”! He runs around home thinking he’s the man :) I love Wii Party – but the kids love almost every game they play!

I bought my Wii off my sister’s friend a little over a year ago. We all love it. My boys prefer Mario games (Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, Mario Party, etc), and I love the Guitar Hero/Rock Band ones. It’s so fun to play along to my favorite songs!
